Support your local AHSD25 PTA:

Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is the largest and the original parent volunteer group advocating to better children’s education, health, safety and well-being. PTA is run by volunteer members, and decisions are made democratically by those members. We are all different, but as parents, teachers, administrators, and community members we share similar concerns for our children and youth. In PTA we take part in influencing the quality of education and help create a nurturing environment for our children.

When parents get involved in their local PTA, they become a participant in their child’s education and help all children succeed. Decades of research shows when parents are involved, students perform better in school. Children of involved parents also exhibit increased motivation, better self-esteem, less drug and alcohol use, and fewer instances of violent behavior.

Joining your local PTA can also help you meet other parents, learn what’s going on at your school, and get to know teachers, principals and other administrators. There are so many ways to become involved in your PTA, and involvement does not have to take a lot of time.  You are welcome anytime to get involved as much or as little as you have the time to spend.

We do appreciate everyone’s membership in PTA, whether you volunteer or not, because your membership helps support a tremendous number of programs and activities that positively impact children in our schools including cultural and curriculum supported events, student and family activities, staff hospitality, and much more.

Your PTA membership also provides a powerful voice in local governmental decisions on issues that affect children and public education.  Simply put, the more members we have, the more powerful our voice becomes for every child.

If you have joined a local PTA, thank you, and please take advantage of the benefits PTA has for you. If you haven’t yet joined, please check out your local PTA for yourself.
